Good Reads – My Mom’s Collection (Regional)

Hey Guys!

So recently I was talking to a friend about books and he told me that since I preferred reading in English, a variety of books were easily available and accessible to me, and that, it’s difficult for avid readers who prefer languages other than English to read interesting and new  stuffs. So, in this blogpost I am going to talk about books which are available in various languages. These are basically from my mom’s collection, as even she prefers regional languages (Hindi/Marathi). Hope you enjoy reading these books just as much as we loved it 😉 happy reading.

2. The Power of Your Subconscious Mind (Multiple Languages)

This self-help book is a must, must read! Translated in almost every language, this book can be a first aid to you and that is why this also makes up for a great gift. 3. Raavan – Rakshasancha Raja (Marathi)

Alright! coming towards my favourite genre. So, let me tell you I have read a lot of mythological fictions which are par excellence. The writers research so much, and the story that they create! I mean just letting your imagination flow and creating a wonderful world, keeping readers engaged and the fresh perspective they bring before the readers is mind blowing! I will write a separate blog on mythological books which I have read.

Raavan is one such book for mythology lovers. The story revolves around life of warrior king Raavan who is a devotee of Lord Shiv, is known for his knowledge and wisdom, and is fearless. The book offers you insights into the life of Raavan and portrays a different side of him as opposed to what is normally known and generally accepted.

4. Maajhi Janmathep (Marathi/Hindi/English)

Mazi Janmthep is a heart touching autobiography of Swatantrayaveer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, a revolutionary who contributed towards freeing India from the British rule. 5. Vidur Niti (Marathi/Hindi)

Mahamantri Vidur! Again, if you’re a fan of Indian mythology and if you know Mahabharata, you must have definitely heard about Vidur’s character and role. Vidur was a Mahamantri (Prime Minister) in Hastinapur’s court and an advisor to Kauravas. He was respected for his knowledge and wisdom. Vidur Niti talks about Vidur’s policies and administration for people’s welfare.

8. Becoming (Multiple Languages)

‘Becoming’ is a memoir of former United States first lady Michelle Obama. In this book, she talks about her journey and her life experiences. The book is a powerful and inspiring memoir and a refreshing read as you may want to call it. Go for this unique and lesser known experience.

10. Rhonda Bryne Books – The Secret (Rahasya) The Magic (Jaadu), Power (Shakti), and Hero (Nayak) –   (Multiple Languages)

Another self-help book series. All of these books are amazing. They are world renowned for a reason after all. If I have to recommend any one book from this collection, then it has to be – The Magic (Jaadu). This is my favourite and if I had the authority I would put the lessons from it school syllabus :p right after when the kids are taught about magical words.. this book will fit there perfectly well. I hope you know the magical words though 😉 :))

I hope you liked the blog. Gift/exchange a book this season. Feed the mind 🙂
